Due to disturbances in the Middle East, natural gas prices in Europe have escalated to their highest level in over three months.
On Wednesday, reports highlighted that the Amsterdam exchange saw TTF gas futures climb to 33.95 EUR/MWh, the most elevated rate since early January.
In the recent week alone, natural gas has risen over 20%, countering the earlier declines in prices at the year's onset.
The increase in prices is primarily due to fears among investors about potential new conflicts in the Middle East and their implications for the region's gas supply.
The commodities market is keenly awaiting the response from Israel following an attack by Iran last Saturday.
Previously, due to an exceptionally mild winter in Europe, gas prices had dropped. In February, they reached 22.31 EUR/MWh, the lowest since the preceding summer, while storage levels were notably high.
